Going for Gold was the most popular of gameshows in the BBC's post Neighbours slot. Hosted by the delightfully charming Henry Kelly, the quiz took a brave pro European angle. With choice contestants seemingly selected from the cream of the continent's intelligentsia, how could it possibly fail? Mr. Kelly shot to fame as one of the lovable rogues on ITV's "Game For a Laugh". Along with Jeremy Beadle, Sarah Kennedy and Matthew Kelly (no relation) he wreaked havoc across eighties' Britain. The rest of the team, although not as successful as the 'Kelly, have had their own triumphs ("Beadle's About", Radio 2 and "Stars in Their Eyes" respectively). This is by far the largest internet resource of GFG material.
